I was curious and checked the wikipedia page. The claim that the Japanese called him gaijin shogun was suspicious to me. I checked the Valley tex, and issues of reliability aside, the specific Valley page citation claims that it is *likely* that the Japanese would have considered him such, and not something that they explicitly called him. I found no mention of this title actually used in the rest of the book Tag: 2017 wikitext editor
